Hunter Hawkins Releases “Seeking Release (reimagined by Kenny Loggins)”

Hunter Hawkins revisits a song from the 2021 EP Phase with producer Kenny Loggins, transforming it into an orchestral centerpiece of a forthcoming debut album.

Hunter Hawkins has released “Seeking Release (reimagined by Kenny Loggins),” a new interpretation of a song that first appeared on Hawkins’ 2021 EP Phase. Produced by Kenny Loggins with new arrangements by Ben Plotnick and Kaitlyn Raitz, the track becomes an orchestral centerpiece of Hawkins’ upcoming full-length album.

The song began during a solitary afternoon in La Jolla, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, built on a scratch guitar track from co-writer Kevin Mahany. “Writing it helped me realize that the answers I was searching for weren’t going to arrive from somewhere else,” Hawkins said. “They had to come from choosing to let go, trust the process, and allow myself to feel everything instead of fighting it.”

The reimagined version expands the song’s emotional arc from quiet reflection to an expansive finale, exploring surrender, healing and the search for understanding.
